Description of the organisation: The Arad House of Culture is a public institution that has been in existence since 1993. Its usual source of funding comes from the Local Council and its own resources. Being a project-based institution, it organizes and takes part in the most important cultural events of the city. During the years, the Arad House of Culture managed to become an important landmark of promoting a qualitative cultural offer, through collaborations with cultural institutions from abroad. The office is located in the Old Theatre or Hirschl House, the first building in Romania that hosted a theatre with a permanent programme.
Main areas of activity: organisation of public events in the city (exhibitions, concerts, festivals, celebrations); art production (performances, albums, books, cultural journals, etc.); organization of projects with local Romanian and foreign cultural institutes.

Main projects in 2009: Underground Theatre/Film Festival, FolkFest, Rock Festival, Ethno-jazz Festival.
Foreseen projects in 2010: Next editions of the festivals organised in 2009.
