Description of the organisation: Our long-term plans are executed bearing in mind a combination of local demands, international trends and modern tendencies in cultural transmission. We reconceptualise the term "centre" in the conceptual environment of transmission and penetrability: we guarantee points of contact, orientation and long-term partnerships for people with new ideas, so that, similarly to those enjoying institutionalised wide social acceptance, the city will be able to change them into valuable, active and creative contributors. We accept our role as an open, receptive centre without borders that unifies variety in achieving the original priorities set out for Cultural Capital of Europe - Pécs 2010. Our aim is to strengthen our relationships with universities and artistic communities through the mutual and complementary organisation of music, large-scale art and scientific events, conventions and conferences.
