Description of the organisation: The Arts Development Service is established within the Community, Health and Social Care Directorate of Salford City Council. The service assists both the city council and other agencies and partners to achieve their aims, delivering high quality arts activities that support the city's pledges in key areas such as regeneration, social inclusion, quality of life and improving health and wellbeing.

Main projects in 2009: youth dance strategy, further development of a youth dance company, work with older people, intergenerational activity, Irwell Sculpture Trail (public art).
Foreseen projects in 2010: further development of youth dance, intergenerational arts and reminiscence project, public art projects relating to Ordsall Hall, developing work in town centres (e.g. in empty shop units).
